Technomad to Stock Commercial Pro Audio Equipment in Europe

Strategy will reduce shipping costs, delivery times for international customers

BOSTON, May 8, 2008 – Technomad Associates, LLC, a leader in weatherproof loudspeakers and Turnkey PA systems for the commercial pro audio market since 1995, today announced it will begin stocking equipment in the Netherlands for distribution throughout Europe and nearby regions. The initiative will enable faster delivery times to Technomad customers (as short as one day to many locations in Europe) and minimize shipping costs for European distribution. Technomad, with a decade-plus history of delivering rugged, weatherproof, high-quality audio systems to contractors and end-users, will continue to manufacture its products at its U.S. factory in South Deerfield, Massachusetts.

The ability to stock Technomad loudspeakers and Turnkey PA systems in Europe will provide improved service to our international customers while also reducing the expenses associated with flying small quantities of product direct, said Rodger von Kries, vice president of Technomad. This strategy improves response times to our international customers, expedites project timelines for installers, and minimizes shipping costs through ground freight delivery.

Technomad IP56-rated weatherproof loudspeakers for the commercial pro audio market are installed around the world in cruise ships, theme parks, sports stadiums, outdoor entertainment venues, and within other harsh environment fixed and mobile applications, both indoors and outdoors. ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ and Technomad

Donated system plays role in Hughes family storyline for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

On November 7, Patricia and Patrick John Hughes family of Louisville, Kentucky, received word that Ty Pennington and the Extreme Makeover team would renovate their house into a safer and more accessible home for their blind disabled son, Patrick Henry, age 19. The storyline also includes the renovation of a practice field where Patrick marches in the University of Louisville School of Music Marching and Pep Band, maneuvering his wheelchair through the formations with assistance from his father. Technomad Associates, a manufacturer of weatherproof outdoor loudspeakers and PA systems, did the installation of a Turnkey PA System at the University. On November 13, the renovated field was revealed to the Hughes family.

Technomad delivered the system for installation by Super Home Systems of Louisville in the week following the Hughes family receiving the news. According to Phil Deddens, President of Super Home Systems, the system was easily set up in one day, requiring only simple cable runs and electrical connections. The University of Louisville’s practice field is the size and shape of a football field. Deddens and his team installed the Two Technomad Noho C loudspeakers on a new light pole at the 50 yard line, each at opposite 45 degree angles to optimize audio coverage on the field.

The Technomad Noho C loudspeakers are installed nearby the tower where the band director gives his commands, allowing his voice to project out onto the practice field and reach the 220-plus members as they are playing and practicing their formations. The PA rack, featuring an amplifier and six-channel mixer, is housed in this tower, close enough to allow a 20-foot microphone cable to easily reach the mixer input. The Turnkey PA system includes a microphone for the band director, loudspeakers brackets, and cables to connect all the components.

In addition to the PA system installation, the field renovations included six new 50-foot light poles, two storage buildings, a covered pavilion for viewing band practices, and a new archway at the entrance that includes the words “Inspired by Patrick Henry Hughes.” Super Home Systems was also involved in the home renovations, including a new stereo system, surround sound, phone, and TV writing, and security system installation.

Technomad to Introduce Loudspeaker Yokes for Secure Outdoor Audio Installations at Infocomm 2008

BOSTON, May 5, 2008– Technomad Associates, LLC, a leader in weatherproof loudspeakers and Turnkey PA systems for the commercial pro audio market since 1995, will introduce new mounting yokes to address challenging outdoor loudspeaker installations for audio contractors and installers at the upcoming Infocomm 2008 convention (June 18-20, Booth C3613, Las Vegas Convention Center).The yokes will initially be available as accessories with Technomad Berlin and Noho C loudspeakers, two of the company’s more popular loudspeakers for outdoor PA systems in stadiums, theme parks, and other open air venues.

The new mounting yokes are essentially U shaped arms that give the contractor more flexibility for outdoor loudspeaker installations. The mounting yokes improve loudspeaker support on round surfaces such as outdoor poles and columns to provide a more secure installation than traditional mounting brackets. Flexibility is further enhanced when the yokes are used with Allen Products PoleStarÆ all-weather pole and column adapters, available as accessories through Technomad. Together, the Technomad mounting yokes and PoleStar adapters can maximize audio coverage by allowing the contractor to more accurately tilt or position the loudspeakers at the best angle.

Technomad will also show its Vienna 16 and Paris 616 loudspeakers, now available and shipping in new Version8 models. Technomad Vienna 16 and Paris 616 loudspeakers are part of the company’s MP Series, a range of weatherproof loudspeakers designed for permanent installation, indoors and outdoors. The Version8 models add compression drivers that provide an added 3dB of maximum continuous SPL and an added 10dB of dynamic range, ensuring voice intelligibility and musical output at all volume levels, with improved audio quality in the mid-to-upper frequency range.

Technomad – LOUD AND CLEAR

All weather Noho C loudspeakers from Technomad Associates LLC provide full audio coverage for outdoor fields, the company says. Two units were recently mounted on a pair of light poles directly behind the visitor’s bleachers of the Mount Si High School football field on Sinoqualmmie, Wash. A two- channel 550-watt amplifier powers the loudspeakers from the press box on the opposite side of the field and a line for a single microphone is run through protective cabling. Noho C loudspeakers are available separately or as part of a turnkey public-address system.
